Mr. Stephen Muia is an expert in the insurance Industry, he has over 20 years experience. He was a deputy managing director of Takaful Insurance Africa. He has worked as a Research & Development Manager, Claims and Underwriting Manager during his long career. He holds a Bachelor degree of Arts with a major in Economics & Business Administration from Kenyatta University and is currently a finalist in MBA (Strategic Management) at the University of Nairobi. He also holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Marketing from the Chartered Institute of Marketing (UK) and qualified as a Chartered Marketer in 2010. He was involved in the establishment of Takaful Insurance of Africa from scratch to its current position in the insurance industry. Other successes include; development of Loanguard, CIC’s cash cow with the highest growth rate, development of various products and repackaging of most of our products, full implementation of AIMS as the main system for CIC operations. System was fully implemented when he worked in both Underwriting and Claims. He participated in the Relaunch and repositioning of CIC Insurance in the Insurance industry and successful monitoring and evaluation of CIC performance on the Strategic Plan issues. Mr. Muia brings wealth of experience in Jubilant PLC as the Director and Chairman of the board. Mr. Kimuyu is founder and the managing director of Jubilant PLC. He has over 9 years experience in the financial sector. Previously he worked for Faulu Kenya (Microfinance bank), Barclays Bank and Standard Chartered bank. He holds a bachelors degree in business management (Banking and Finance), diploma in Business administration and currently pursuing his MBA. He was awarded degree of doctor of leadership and management philosophy PhD (Honaris Causa). He is one of the youngest CEOs in the financial sector in Kenya and driven by passion to eradicate poverty which has hindered many from celebrating financial freedom and realizing their dreams. He is involved in mentorship programs for the youth that create self awareness and offers a platform for the business incubation. Cyprian is self motivated, accomplished business manager and expert in corporate strategy, corporate formation, financial modeling, portfolio investments management and marketing. He brings to Jubilant a different approach in microfinance that adds more value to the business and the clients. Prof. Charles Mayaka holds a BSC and MBA from Kurukshetra University India (1983 -1988). He is an all but Dissertation (ABD) from Allaint International University San Diego (2002) and currently enrolled for PHD at Kenyatta University. ABD (All But Dissertation) – Completed all course work in his DBA Program in International Marketing at Alliant International University, San Diego, California. Now enrolled at Kenyatta University to complete DBA. Masters of Business Administration (MBA), Kurukshetra University, Haryana, India -1986 to 1988.Bachelor of Science (BSc. Chemistry, Botany, Zoology), University College, Kurukshetra University, Haryana, India - 1983 to 1986. Prof. Mayaka has held various leadership positions since the 90s; to mention a few: Director, Interconsumer Products Ltd.; Director of Strategy, Trinity Holdings, south Sudan; Director, Centre for Executive and Entrepreneurial Development &USIU. Some of the accomplishments include; Designed and developed curriculum and training content for women economic empowerment for the Goldman Sachs 10 Thousand Women Entrepreneurship Development Program – 2009 to 2013. Designed and developed curriculum and training content to empower small holder farmers and traders across the agribusiness value chain for Bill and Melinda Gates – 2011 to 2013. He has participated as a Lead Consultant in crafting strategic plans for various institutions locally, many of which have experienced tremendous growth and expansion in the recent past. Reverend Kimeu is an ordained minister of JCC (Jesus Celebration Centre) - Mombasa. He holds a Bachelor degree of Arts from the University of Nairobi. He is the Ministry Director of JCCMI (Jesus Celebration Centre Ministry International) and also the overseer in Mombasa region. Prior to his appointment as a director he served as the JCC administrator and crusade coordinator for 10 years. He worked for Lake Tanners Ltd as the assistant administrator and operations Manager for one year. For 20 years in the Ministry Reverend Kimeu has made himself available in a variety of capacities to his congregation, his friends and family, and especially, the young people of Mombasa. He is dedicated in the development of young people in achieving their full potential as individuals and responsible citizens. He posses’ strong leadership skills, tremendously enthusiastic, focused a beacon of hope and inspiration to many. He is passionate in serving the community and poverty eradication. As a visionary he was part of the team that conceived the idea of diversifying the religious realm of JCCMI. Mrs. Njagi is a founding director of Jubilant PLC. She is an assistant commissioner of Kenya Revenue Authority. She has over 26 years experience in KRA. Susan is a graduate of Bachelors of Commerce from the University of Nairobi. Mrs Njagi has experience in financial management, risk management, excellent customer service, monitoring and evaluation. She is passionate in serving the community and the people at the bottom of the pyramid. Prior to joining Jubilant, she has a reputation of running successful syndicate of businesses in Mombasa, Nairobi and the central Kenya region. Her passion to create opportunity for others and build their capacity has seen her venture into multiple industries ranging from education, insurance, marketing just to mention a few. Her wealth of experience in civil service at different levels have been a great a resource for Jubilant since inception i.e. from recruitment, strategy and policy formulation to tax compliance a field that has posed significant challenge to most start ups. As a contemporary enjoying great support in the industry, she sits in other boards of renowned companies and has recently expressed interest in forex trade. Esther is the Deputy Managing Partner (Human Resource and Administration) Partner, Head of Commercial and Property Department MMC AFRICA LAW. Involved in the due diligence, drafting of the trust deed, management and custody agreement as well as the Information Memorandum for their Money Market and Balanced Funds and pursuing approval for the same with the Capital Markets Authority; Advising on the restructuring of First Independent Power Kenya Ltd the holding company of an Independent Power Producer, Iberafrica Power (k) ltd, and transferring the shareholding to its parent company Unión Fenosa Desarrollo y Acción domiciled in Spain (capital 14 million USD, $ 14,000,000) and many others in several countries like Kenya,Rwanda,Tanzania,Burundi,D R Congo. Mr. Eric Naivasha is a Microfinance & SME Expert with over 14 years experience in the SME Sector, Financial research, microfinance operations, Financial Advisory, capacity building in microfinance, Monitoring and Evaluation and Impact Assessment. With a postgraduate degree in Economics, accounting and auditing experience, Mr. Naivasha has a strong academic and practical background in economic and social development in the field of financial operations, research and development of financial products, business planning, due diligence, microfinance best practice and institutional development. Key areas of experience include business development for SMEs especially for emerging markets, Institutional re-engineering, design and implementation of banking and BDS programmes, design and development of financial products and services, market research, microfinance operations and institutional reviews. Mr. Naivasha has experience in design and implementation of sustainable financial institutions as well as monitoring and evaluation. He is active in the area of SME business training with experience in financial management, accounting, preparation of business plans and strategic plans. He has helped institutions set up microfinance programs right from project design to implementation. He was the team leader involved in setting up of three microfinance banks in Lagos Nigeria. Mr. Naivasha is also an AFCAP/CGAP Affiliate Consultant with certification to train in Business and Strategic Planning for microfinance, Accounting and Financial Analysis, Risk Management, Delinquency Management, Market research, Interest Rate Setting and Product Development. He is also certified trainer for IFC Business Edge. Mr. Naivasha has gained practical experience in financial advisory from his involvement with the transformation and development of K-Rep Bank in Kenya (the first NGO Microfinance Institution in Africa to transform to a regulated microfinance bank). Mr. Naivasha was part of a team that was involved in the transformation of Equity Bank (previously Equity Building Society), especially in developing the transformation business plan and staff training. Equity Bank is now the biggest bank in the region.
